At Audry, collaboration is at the heart of every success. To show you just how valuable it can be, we ask podcasters using Audry to share their experiences and successes. It’s essential to keep checking in with the community. Today we’re talking to Eric from the Dumb People with Terrible Ideas Podcast about his experience with his paid promotion.
Let’s start with a quick introduction: please tell us a little bit more about yourself and your podcast.
“You’re fascinated with people who make mistakes and ALSO want to know more about the world but don’t want to read? “Dumb People with Terrible Ideas” makes dumb people learn and smart people laugh. The audience leans male, progressive/liberal, from 25-54.“
What are currently your most successful tricks to grow your podcast’s audience?
“Audry’s paid promotions have been great. I saw a nice spike in downloads once the paid promotion started. As for social media, I use Reddit as my main source to get the word out.”
Can you share a bit more about your experience with buying a paid promotion on Audry?
“I have two pending promotions that haven’t run yet. The one that has run has been very successful- mainly because the topics of both podcasts are similar.”
Have you already benefited from the paid promotions?
“Yes! The biggest benefit has been that the additional traffic has engaged with multiple listenings of past episodes. So, these people are in my niche; my podcast is compelling enough to listen to multiple episodes once they’ve found it. I credit that to Audry providing enough information to be able to target my paid promotions to podcasts similar to my own.”
Now the most important question: has Audry improved your life as a podcaster?
“Sure! There is a great big world of wonderfully creative podcasters. This might grow into a very valuable social network for people like myself.”
